Poetry by Kenn Brody, July, 2023

Imagine the sound of two verbs clashing.

Where Yin meets Yang:

A girl with orange hair,

A wizened Asian man,

Caught in chiaroscuro.

She expends verbs furiously.

He is a statue, watching.

Now you

Set cold fire to the top of your spine.

Make lightning from your loins

Flash up the bony column

And split your skull.

Some scream “nonsense.”

The few, poets all,

Part the curtain

On a new landscape.

The Asian man cracks a smile.
